Clydebank footballer Kevin Green suffered a horrendous injury during his side’s victory over Largs Thistle as a team-mate’s dad hit out at the referee after sharing the image.
Bankies midfielder Liam McGonigle’s furious father Danny took to Twitter to post a picture of Green’s gash following a challenge during the West of Scotland Premier Division clash.
Clydebank won the match 3-2 at Holm Park but Danny McGonigle raged that referee Gary Hanvidge only issued a yellow card for the challenge that left his shin in such a state.
He tweeted: “Dear SFA. Can you ask the referee at the Clydebank v Largs game today, how he thinks this is just a yellow card challenge?”
When contacted by Record Sport , Clydebank manager Gordon Moffat refused to comment on the incident.
