Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has responded to questions about potentially signing Everton star Anthony Gordon.
The future of the Blues academy graduate has been the subject of speculation ever since the summer. Chelsea were first linked with the 21-year-old at the start of the season, but no move materialised.
Rumours have circulated that Gordon could be signing a new contract at Everton, but no deal has been signed as of yet. Gordon’s current contract runs until 2025, having signed a five-year deal back in 2020.

Howe has spoken about the prospect of new players being signed by Newcastle. It is thought that Howe is keen to sign a versatile forward, and admits the club are working hard behind the scenes.
“I think the club are trying, and that’s where we are,” Howe told the Chronicle.
“So there’s no news to give you, but there’s a lot of work going on.”
When specifically asked about the prospect of signing Gordon from Everton, Howe simply responded: “No, no comment on any players.”
