CLP leader blames flawed polices

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has blamed the spiraling prices of fuel, cooking gas and essential commodities on the “anti-poor” and “pro-corporate” policies of the BJP dispensation at the Centre.

“Poor and middle class sections across the country are bearing the brunt of the soaring prices of fuel and LPG due to the flawed policies of the BJP regime,” he charged.

He was speaking at a novel protest demonstration organised by the activists of the party’s women’s wing against the “all-round price rise” at Patharlapadu village in Chintakani mandal on Thursday.

The CLP leader took part in the protest programme en-route his ongoing “People’s March” padayatra in Madhira Assembly constituency.

Women Congress activists garlanded the LPG cylinders and beat utensils in a symbolic protest against the steep rise in LPG cylinder price.

Addressing the demonstrators, Mr Vikramarka charged the BJP government at the Centre with diluting the Essential Commodities Act brought by the previous Congress government and allowing the corporate forces to hoard essential commodities thereby creating artificial shortage of edible oils and other commodities.

Both the TRS government in the State and the BJP regime at the Centre are competing with each other to pose unbearable financial burden on common man, he alleged demanding rollback of hike in fuel and LPG cylinder prices.

In Karimnagar, senior Congress leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar led the protest against the price rise at Indira Chowk in the district headquarters town.

The District Congress Committee president K Satyanarayana, the City Congress committee president K Narender Reddy, and several leaders of the Congress party’s women’s wing took part in the stir.
