Police are investigating after a body was discovered in a park in Salford.
The tragedy was reported at Clowes Park at around 7.30am today.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but were unable to save the man, who has not been identified.
The area has been cordoned off by police as they work to establish how he died.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Police were called around 7.30am today (30/01) to Clowes Park, Salford to a report of an unresponsive male.
"Emergency services attended and a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Enquiries are in their initial stages and a scene currently remains in place."
Salford councillor Ari Leitner posted on Twitter: "Extremely distressing reports of a body found at Clowes Park this morning. The park will remain temporarily closed whilst GMP undertake investigation work."
