Cloudflare downtime strikes again in December, causing '500 Internal Server Errors' across LinkedIn and even Fortnite

In the early hours of Friday, December 5, Cloudflare had "scheduled maintenance", specifically at 4:00 AM ET, which seemingly triggered outages across a wide range of platforms. '500 Internal Server Error' messages appeared across Gitlab, LinkedIn, Canva, and even account services for popular video games like Fortnite and Valorant.

Just like the previous downtime event in mid-November, even downdetector itself went down, making it harder for users to track exactly which platforms had been affected. Thankfully, it looks like the downtime only lasted for around ten to fifteen minutes, after Cloudflare warned its maintenance could trigger a "slight increase in latency", but it was apparently more debilitating than that.
