Concerns have been raised about a shortage of bouncers at UK pubs, bars and clubs. The last few years have been a shock to the hospitality industry - and while some businesses have seen a customer surge, staffing issues and rising costs are hitting many venues.
One role in particularly short supply is bouncers. According to recent research from the Night Time Industries Association, around three-quarters of pubs, bars and clubs said they were short of security staff.
"This means that they are either closing earlier or shutting for part of the week," said Shahzad Ali, chief executive at Get Licensed, the UK’s leading security training and staffing platform. "The shortage began during the pandemic and the problem is increasing.
