When an NBA player like Paul George, who’s seen and faced all the best talent across the league, lobs next-level praise to an opponent, it’s worth noting. That was the case during a recent episode of Podcast P with Paul George, when the Los Angeles Clippers star discussed Joel Embiid and offered the highest praise imaginable to the Philadelphia 76ers big man.
“How do you stop him, bro? You can’t, like you cannot stop him,” George said. “… He should average 41 [points this year]. You can’t stop him, he’s too big, he’s agile, he can shoot, he can step out from the three-point line, he’s just a big body. He’s our generation and our version of Shaq.
“I’m sure how teams had to match up with Shaq, there’s nobody we can put on Shaq—there’s nobody we can put on Joel. … You put a big on him, he’s gonna go around him, you put a small on him, he’s gonna punish him.”
