Clip of Matt Hancock 'fake crying' resurfaces as he denies acting skills on I'm A Celeb

The clip of Matt Hancock 'fake crying' has resurfaced after the disgraced MP claimed he hasn't acted since school on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

The former health secretary had to go undercover with comedian Seann Walsh as the pair made their debut on the ITV show last night (Nov 9).

As part of a secret 'mole mission', the duo had to convince the campmates they were bird twitchers, prompting Seann to ask Mr Hancock if he'd done any acting.

"Not since school," the MP mused, prompting a massive backlash on Twitter.

In 2020, Mr Hancock appeared to cry on Good Morning Britain when 81-year-old William "Bill" Shakespeare received one of the first Covid vaccines.

However, after a video emerged of the MP kissing his closest aide, Gina Coladangelo, in his ministerial office – in breach of his own Covid-19 - the father-of-three resigned from the cabinet.

Sharing a video of the MP on GMB during last night's episode, one fan wrote: "Seann: 'Have you ever done any acting?!' Matt: 'Not since school…'”, followed by three laughing emojis.

Viewers were quick to respond to the post, with one saying: "The fact that the COMEDIAN Sean didn’t make the obvious joke there is disgraceful man…"

Another said: "That made my laugh, all has been doing is acting right for the last 2 and a half years and laughing at us all while making his people rich of, of PPE."

While a third quipped: "All MPs are actors, House of Commons is a pantomime."

Mr Hancock's entrance into the jungle was watched by millions - in what was largely a cringe-fest.

As he battled his way through a critter-filled burrow, the MP later made his entrance into camp - while the contestants watched open-mouthed.

Journalist Charlene White asked Mr Hancock what he was thinking coming onto the show, to which the MP replied he wanted people to see the real him.

But Culture Club star Boy George wasn't having any of it.

The singer, 61, announced he was close to quitting the ITV series on Wednesday night, after Mr Hancock entered the camp.

Sitting in the Bush Telegraph with tears in his eyes, he said: "I don't really know what to do with my feelings. You know, today was obviously quite emotional for me.

"I don't know what it's going to be like, I actually don't really know if I want to be here."

He later told Scarlette Douglas: "You know, at the beginning of the pandemic my mum was in hospital. I wasn’t allowed to see her. I thought she was going to die.

"I was tweeting Greenwich hospital going, ‘Please look after my mum.’ I used my name, I was like ‘Please look after my mum.’ And they did, she was fine… I feel like, I don’t want to be sitting here like I’m having fun with him.

"It’s difficult for me because, you know, had something happened, if my mum had gone, I wouldn’t be here now. I would have gone when he walked in."

*I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Thursday at 9pm on ITV
