Climber injured in Peak District after group of men 'threw boulder onto him'

A climber suffered a leg injury after claims a 'group of males' threw a boulder from the top of a rock face in the Peak District this weekend.

Teams from Edale Mountain Rescue were called to Bamford Edge in Hope Valley on Saturday (30 April) after reports that a climber had been injured. As they arrived, they were informed a boulder had been launched from the top of the crag towards him and his friends by a group of males.

Thankfully the climber was wearing a helmet, which took a hit before the rock connected with his leg. His injury was seen to and the climber was transported to an ambulance waiting nearby.
