Cliftonville have thanked Jamie Harney who is taking a break from football.
The Reds said the 26-year-old defender was preparing to 'take some time away from the game'. Harney has been with Cliftonville since 2017 and has gone on to make 150 appearances for the North Belfast side.
Cliftonville said on their website: "Cliftonville Football Club places on record our thanks to Jamie Harney as the 26-year-old defender prepares to take some time away from the game. The Plumbridge man, who began his career with Maiden City Academy, scored 11 goals in 150 appearances for the Reds after making his debut in a Danske Bank Premiership victory over Ards on August 12, 2017.

"A former Northern Ireland Under-21 international, Harney – who was also previously on the books of West Ham United and Colchester United – quickly established himself as a fans’ favourite at Solitude, where he scored a memorable hat-trick in an Irish Cup defeat of Warrenpoint Town in January 2019.
"His most recent outing came on the final day of last season when he emerged from the bench in Cliftonville’s 2-1 victory over Glentoran at The Oval and everyone at the Club extends gratitude for his services over the past five years."
Cliftonville have already bolstered their defensive options for next season. Luke Turner has signed a permanent contract after impressing during a loan spell last year while central defender Jamie Robinson has also joined the club.
Harney said on Twitter: "Thanks everyone for the messages. It’s been an honour to wear the jersey over the last five years, hopefully it’s not for the last time. Australia, you're up!"
