Clifton Suspension Bridge will be closed for several hours today (March 21) for repairs and maintenance. The bridge will be closed to traffic and cyclists between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Repairs will be carried out to the Leigh Woods weigh beams, the hangers and lighting works on the chains. While it is closed, people have been advised to follow the diversion along Bridge Valley Road, Brunel Way and A369 Rownham Hill.
This will take you into the Clean Air Zone, but you will not be charged if you follow the diversion, Bristol City Council said.

A tweet from the council said: "Clifton Suspension Bridge will be closed from 9.30am - 3.30pm tomorrow. While it's closed, please follow the diversion along Bridge Valley Rd, Brunel Way & A369 Rownham Hill.
"It will take you into the Clean Air Zone, but you won't be charged if you follow the diversion."
Bridge master Trish Johnson previously stated: "We have some maintenance to carry out on one of our weigh beams which monitors the weight of vehicles crossing the bridge, so it is very important. We will also take advantage of the closure to replace some bolts on the hangers and to carry out lighting works."
