A drink-driver hurled abuse at police after he was pulled over in a Mercedes along Middleton Boulevard in Wollaton. Callum Adams, 33, of Green Lane, Clifton, was spotted by officers on October 23 heading along Middleton Boulevard outbound from Nottingham after he was said to be 'driving at speed', Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard.
Adams turned off the ignition and 'appeared to be under the influence of alcohol', said prosecutor Sanjay Jareth today (January 10). "His eyes were hazy and his speech was slurred".
Adams said 'go on, arrest me then'. He was asked to get out of the Mercedes and was assisted to the back seat of the police vehicle. Abusive language about the officers followed.
