Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall was arrested in Ohio on Tuesday on a domestic violence charge after allegedly threatening his fiancée with a gun. The incident took place at their residence, where a heated argument ensued over financial needs for their shared 11-year-old daughter. The situation escalated, leading to a physical altercation.
The woman reported that Hall pushed her, struck her with a baby bottle, and dragged her along the porch and driveway. She further claimed that Hall brandished a gun, threatening her life by putting it to her temple and uttering menacing words.
Law enforcement responded to a call from the woman, leading to Hall's arrest. Upon investigation, authorities found evidence of property damage, including a damaged door frame and a punched hole in a door. Two handguns, a .40-caliber Glock and a 9mm Smith & Wesson, were seized from the premises.
Following his arraignment at Avon Lake Municipal Court, Hall pleaded not guilty and was released on a $10,000 personal bond. The Cleveland Browns issued a statement acknowledging the situation and mentioned that they are cooperating with the authorities while gathering more information.
The team refrained from practicing on Tuesday, with plans to resume joint practices with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday. The incident involving Mike Hall has raised concerns about off-field behavior among NFL players and the importance of addressing domestic violence issues within the league.
