Clement Lenglet has revealed that he asked Hugo Lloris "a lot of questions" before joining Tottenham on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona. Giving Spurs some much-needed competition in the backline, the 27-year-old has made a total of 12 appearances in all competitions since his switch.
Impressing on the left of defence and also in the central role he has taken on in the past three games, Lenglet's versatility has proved very handy to Antonio Conte this season and he is someone the club could potentially look to sign permanently next summer if he continues to impress. Opening up on his move to Tottenham and his start to life in the capital, Lenglet has admitted that he is in a good place to grow "as both a man and a player".
"It's been good. It's a new club and new country. Everything has been new for me because the language is completely different from Spanish and French, but I am adapting," said the Frenchman in the club's official matchday programme.

"I am trying to learn the language quickly to speak with my teammates in English when I can and Spanish when they speak Spanish. I am open to growing in this aspect and l want to grow quickly here.
"The group here is really good. All of the guys are in a good shape to help the new players. They try to help us to be better in every aspect and to help each other.
"Hugo, of course, is an important person for me. Before I signed here, I spoke with him to get an understanding of the club, the idea and the players. I asked him a lot of questions. He has been here for a long time, he knows very well how the club is growing so he is definitely an important person for the group and me.
"I spoke with the coach too so, when you speak with the captain, the coach and with Fabio [Paratici], you understand what they want and where l would go if I accepted the challenge. After all the conversations, I understood it was a very good option for me to come here, to compete in this league and to grow here as both a man and a player.
"And the Premier League has been totally different to LaLiga. The intensity is higher. Of course, every game is tough, so we have to always be ready and fit to compete and to try to win because we are now in a process where we want to stay high in the table. It is an important season for us and the club."
