With the cost of everything including our food shop seeming to get pricier by the day, plenty of households are considering shopping around the supermarkets to find the best deals.
And while you may be familiar with the big UK names like Tesco , Asda , Sainsbury’s and Aldi , there are some other places that you may not have thought to try before. One of these stores is Costco - the third-largest retailer in the world, the chain is perhaps most commonly associated with the USA, but also has several stores across the UK.
Manchester Evening News reporter Emma Gill decided to head to her nearest Costco and buy some staples of a typical weekly food shop to compare it with UK favourite Tesco. And whilst you may have to travel a bit further to get to Costco than Tesco depending on where you live - there’s just one Costco store in the North East located in Gateshead - it may be worth it for the savings.
