One of Wales’ leading cleaning firms is set to increase its staff by nearly 50% this year following a recent MBO deal.
Bridgend-based A&R Services has announced plans to create 150 jobs across South Wales and the South West of England as the business looks to expand its footprint further across these regions.
It provides commercial cleaning, bio-misting, pest control and security services to industry, leisure, education and the healthcare sector across Wales.
The cleaning firm has seen significant success year-on-year, closing 2021 as the sixth year of consecutive growth.
The expansion will take the business to 500 employees and see the new management team on track to exceed a turnover of £5m this year.
The cleaning firm was acquired in a management buyout deal in January this year, advised on by the GS Verde Group who brokered the deal and brought in the Development Bank of Wales.
Rayner Davies, who started the business in 2010 with husband Ashley Davies, sold her interest in the business to Mr Davies and two other directors in Chloe Stanford, who first joined the company as an apprentice at the age of 18, and operations manager Dora Vasarhelyi.
Mrs Davies said she will still remain a shareholder in the firm, retaining part of her shares.
Co-founder and managing director Mr Davies said: “After announcing the MBO at the start of the year, Dora, Chloe and I are delighted to share our ambitious growth plans for A&R, with a number of exciting initiatives in the pipeline for the next 12 months alone.”
Operations director, Dora Vasarhelyi said: “We are thrilled to received continued recognition for the business’ growth and success This is testament to the hard work of our team and the ability of us to adapt and overcome the challenges of recent years.”
In 2021, A&R Services was shortlisted for the fifth consecutive year at the 2021 Fast Growth 50 Awards , placing number 25 on the list. The Wales Fast Growth 50 is seen as the definitive guide to the fastest growing indigenous firm in the Welsh economy.
