Classic records by Michael Jackson, George Michael, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan and many more are being given a limited edition re-release for National Album Day.
The albums, a blend of classic reissues and new releases, will be available to purchase through physical and online retailers across the UK on October 17.
This year’s theme is Icons.
Among the albums being re-released are Jackson’s Invincible, Michael’s Listen Without Prejudice, Franklin’s Aretha’s Gold and Dylan’s Desire.
Other albums being re-released include The Pretenders’ Get Close, Elbow’s Asleep In The Back, Goldie’s 1995 debut Timeless and Sade’s Lovers Rock.
Joining them will be Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill, Kirsty MacColl’s Desperate Character, Pink Floyd’s Meddle, Paris Paloma’s Cacophony, Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events and Janis Joplin’s Pearl.
A spokesperson for National Album Day said: “It’s appropriate that for this year’s edition of National Album Day, which celebrates Icons, we are presenting to fans our strongest ever line-up of album releases and classic reissues, drawn from across all eras and genres.

National Album Day encourages album discovery/rediscovery and listening, especially among an engaged, younger audience.
It also aims to reinforce the importance of the format in today’s diverse music ecosystem.
