There were emotional scenes at St James' Park during Newcastle United's game against Fulham today as fans paid tribute to a 'beautiful' teen who sadly passed away.
Avid NUFC supporter Amy Gadomski, from Gosforth, tragically died on Thursday January 5 following a cardiac arrest after 'contracting Strep A or Sepsis'. She was just 16-years-old.
Her auntie Rachael Gadomski previously told ChronicleLive how Amy was season ticket holder and loved attending matches with her friends. Today Rachael was at St James' Park as thousands of fans paid tribute to Amy by clapping in the 16th minute of the game in her memory.

There were emotional scenes in the grounds as fans began clapping and cheering for the teen, who was studying for her GCSEs at Sacred Heart High School. The tribute could be heard during the game's broadcast, with Sky Sports commentators, Andy Hinchcliffe and Rob Hawthorne, informing viewers that fans were clapping in memory of teenager Amy Gadomski who died aged 16.
One fan who was at the match went on to praise fans for the tribute. Posting on Twitter, they wrote: "Well done NUFC fans for the 16 minute clap for Amy - what an amazing bunch you are. Her family will no doubt be so proud of everyone."
Amy had a cardiac arrest on Wednesday January 4 and was airlifted to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary. She was later transferred to the Freeman Hospital where she sadly died the following day.
Her family were told that this and a second cardiac arrest were a possible result of Strep A or sepsis but the cause of her death remains unclear. Her parents Wasana and Michael are devastated at losing their only child.
Rachael has since paid tribute to her niece who was said to be always smiling, always happy, and always there for anyone who needed help. Rachael added that Newcastle United "meant everything" to Amy and encouraged fans to clap in her memory in the 16th minute in their Premier League clash against Fulham on Sunday.
Rachael said: "We just know that she would be so honoured and proud to get some kind of clap done at St. James' Park."
