City of London Police chief apologises to LGBT+ community for historical persecution

The City of London Police chief has apologised to the LGBT+ community for the historic persecution it suffered under “harmful” policing practices.

In a letter sent to the Peter Tatchell Foundation, Commissioner Angela McLaren said the force apologised for “the damaging ways laws were enforced against the community by policing historically”.
