City centre venue Alma De Cuba racked up debts of over £9m before entering administration

A Liverpool restaurant, bar and private hire venue located in a former Catholic church owed more than £9m when it entered administration, it has been revealed.

Alma De Cuba is based in the grade II-listed former St Peter's Church in Seel Street, having first opened in 2005.

The venue quickly became a celebrity favourite, with Liverpool FC holding their players’ party at the venue following the team’s 2006 FA Cup win, and was later acquired by Signature Living for £3.1m in 2017.
