Film fans will be in for a treat at the weekend when Cineworld will be hosting a discount day with tickets available for just £3 for all films.
The multiplex cinema chain, which has branches in The Gate, Newcastle, Boldon Colliery and at Dalton Park, Seaham, says the so-called Cineworld Day - its first - will take place at all UK sites this Saturday, February 26 and price reductions will apply all day.
It means that audiences will be able to watch new releases and blockbusters, including The Duke - the film inspired by the true story of a Newcastle bus driver, Cyrano and Belfast, for a fraction of the usual cost.

And the discount also applies to any format - 2D, 3D, IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen.
Among other options will be the new Death on the Nile, Uncharted, Marry Me and Sing 2 while some 2021 blockbusters - such as Dune and Spider-Man: No Way Home - also will be making a comeback in IMAX, 4DX and ScreenX.
The inaugural Cineworld Day, intended as a grand celebration of the nation’s love of cinema, will also include a limited-time offer for customers to receive 50% off their first month of Unlimited membership, using the code BATMAN50 when paying monthly, or 10% off annual memberships with the code BATMAN10.
Stuart Crane, vice president of Film for Cineworld Group said he was "thrilled" about the first Cineworld Day and its one-day-only offer for customers.
He said: "The last two years have been especially difficult for the cinema industry, but with the huge crowds returning through our doors for movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home and with so many exciting movies to look forward to in 2022 - like The Batman, Morbius, Top Gun: Maverick, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Jurassic World: Dominion - we wanted to celebrate everything that people love about cinema and everything that there is to look forward to at Cineworld.”
