The Cincinnati Bengals didn’t throw out any major surprises on the Week 1 inactives list for the AFC North showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Those Bengals listed the following players as inactives for the season opener:

- OL D’Ante Smith
- OL Max Scharping
- Te Devin Asiasi
- DT Jay Tufele
Scharping and Asiasi might catch the eye as recent waiver claims, but that all but guaranteed they wouldn’t be active in Week 1 and the latter has been dealing with a minor injury.
Keeping just three running backs active was always the expected move and at least one other notable offensive lineman backup had to sit out, so the honor goes to Smith for at least this week.
