Cillian Murphy wishes Helen McRory could have been part of Peaky Blinders film

Cillian Murphy paid tribute to his Peaky Blinders co-star and friend, Helen McRory, as The Immortal Man premiered in Birmingham on Monday (2 March).

The film, released in cinemas on Friday and on Netflix from 20 March, sees the Oscar-winning actor reprise his role as Tommy Shelby.

Set in Birmingham during the Second World War, it welcomes newcomers such as Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan, alongside the return of characters Johnny Dogs (Packy Lee) and Ada Shelby (Sophie Rundle), and Hayden Stagg (Stephen Graham).

Asked if there were any characters that he’d loved to have seen acting alongside him in The Immortal Man, Murphy named his late co-stars McRory (Polly Shelby) and Benjamin Zephaniah (Jeremiah Jesus).
