The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has just pulled nearly 20 intelligence reports from the last decade. CIA Director John Ratcliffe and his team say these reports were biased or simply not the right focus for a spy agency, blasting what they call “liberal cultural influences” within the organization. This isn’t the first time Ratcliffe has shaken things up, either; earlier in his tenure, he scrapped diversity, equity, and inclusion programs following President Trump’s orders.
17 intelligence reports, all predating Trump’s current term, have been retracted. Two others are being recalled for some serious revisions. These reports will be wiped from agency databases, making them completely unavailable to U.S. policymakers. It’s an unusual step for the CIA.
