The church welcomes single people as Jesus was one. That's according to a major new report from the Church of England which sets about embracing the massive diversity in personal relationships.
Those who are part of the church were warned to “not regard [singleness] as lesser than living in a couple relationship". Love Matters, a 236-page report which came out on Wednesday (April 26) was the result of a two-year commission examining relationships ordered by the archbishops of Canterbury and York.
Earlier subjects covered in similar commissions were housing and social care. The key messages from the Archbishops’ Commission on Families and Households are, it says "unambiguous: families matter, relationshipsmatter and love matters".
