Christy Dignam revealed to Ryan Tubridy that he was introduced to Dermot Desmond following an Aslan concert, however, he initially didn't recognise him.
The lead singer of Aslan, who is at home in palliative care, disclosed his encounter with Celtic’s principal shareholder.
Dignam was reluctant to meet the owner of the venue he was playing at, although, he couldn't get enough of Desmond after finding out who he was.
"We were playing in a place down in Cork," Dignam said on The Ryan Tubridy Show.
"After the gig, the manager said the owner wants to meet you. I said I'd meet him for 10 minutes.
"He had never heard of Aslan, he heard it through Scotland. Now he own's 12 percent of Celtic.
"I was like a lima, stuck onto his back!"
Following their backstage interaction, Desmond flew the band over to Glasgow for an Old Firm game.
"He flew us over then, for one of the Rangers games in a private jet," Dignam added.
