Aslan frontman and legendary Dubliner Christy Dignam has died.
The singer's family posted a tribute to the 63-year-old who had been receiving palliative care at home since December last year. The Finglas native had been battling a rare blood disease known as amyloidosis, the build-up of an abnormal protein in tissues and organs, since 2013.
His death was announced by daughter Kiera on Tuesday June 13 just before 5pm following his passing at home. The Dignam family also thanked everyone for their support in recent months as Christy came to the end of his bravely fought battle.
