Christopher Nkunku revealed his excitement to justify Chelsea’s “big effort” in bringing him to the Premier League after his move was officially announced.
The Frenchman, who signed a pre-contract agremeent with the Blues at the end of last year, has arrived at Stamford Bridge for £53m from RB Leipzig, signing a six-year contract in west London.
Nkunku’s season came to an end on Monday night as he came off the bench to feature for the final few minutes of France’s friendly against Greece, after he was also involved as a substitute in Gibraltor a few days earlier.
The 25-year-old scored 23 goals in all competitions for Leipzig this season, having managed 35 the campaign before, and Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping the forward can help address the woes in front of goals that have hampered Chelsea, regardless of who has been in the dugout.
“I am incredibly happy to be joining Chelsea,” Nkunku told the club’s official website.
