Christmas is still about five months away, but Bobby Wagner is already thinking about what he might get Russell Wilson. At the top of his list of ideas is a sack.
The Rams are hosting Wilson and the Broncos at their place for Christmas this year, a marquee matchup between two Super Bowl contenders. It’ll be the first time Wagner and Wilson square off as opponents after spending 10 years together with the Seahawks, but Wagner isn’t going to hold back. He wants to hit Wilson, and more specifically, sack him.
In a recent interview, Wagner was asked which game he’s looking forward to more: his return to Seattle or facing Russ’ Broncos. He went with the latter because of Wilson.
“I would probably say Russ because it’s coming first and it’s Christmas, and who doesn’t want to sack Russell on Christmas? You know what I mean? Send him home to his kids not happy,” Wagner said, holding back a smile.
Wagner and Wilson were both leaders and captains with the Seahawks, so they likely had a great relationship for the decade they were together. But this is now the second time Wagner has expressed his desire to finally lay a hit on Wilson after being unable to in practice.
A sack on Christmas really would be the bow on top.
