It has been confirmed that parts of the M6, M53, M56, and M57 will close starting from today (December 12).
National Highways will initiate repairs across stretches of the motorways for the coming week until Sunday, December 18. The closures are expected to cause severe delays for motorists that regularly use the stretch of road at a time when travel demands are likely at some of their highest due to the run-up to the Christmas period.
There will also be weekend closures overnight on the M6, M53, M57, and M56. Meanwhile, there will also be daytime closures on the M57 southbound between junctions one (Tarbock, and two (Forest House), as well as on the M56 eastbound between junctions 12 (Rocksavage), and 14 (Elton), the Liverpool Echo reports.
