Christine Lampard opens up on 3am starts, hair loss and benefits of walking

Christine Lampard has revealed how she copes with 3am starts - as the Northern Irish Loose Women star is set to fill in for Lorraine Kelly during the summer break.

The Belfast presenter, 44, will temporarily front the popular UK chat show, Lorraine, for the school holidays - but she says there’s advantages to the early starts.

"I have to get up at 3am to do the show but I love the sunny morning drives," she told Woman and Home.

"I’m usually back home by 11.30am and then it’s straight back into family life.

"It feels like a nice balance."

Christine who is married to former English professional footballer, Frank Lampard, is mum to Patricia, 4, and Freddie, 2, - and is also stepmother to his two daughters, Isla, 16, and Luna, 17.

But the busy mum still finds time to keep fit - choosing a daily walk rather than the gym.

"I swear by walking to stay in shape," she said.

"I feel like it’s important to keep moving as we get older.

"My sister lost seven stone in her late teens, purely by walking.

"I do like a gym and a class, but I can’t get motivated to go - but I can walk seven or eight kilometres with both kids in the pram and the dogs by my side."

She continued: "I’m active with the children all the time and I don’t sit down much.

"I want to make sure I am as healthy as I can be."

Christine also added that she takes vitamins to help with her hair loss.

She explained: "My hair has started to fall out and I lost a lot after having the children so I’ve started taking vitamins for it."

Christine began dating Frank in 2009 and the pair married in 2015 and now live in London with their family.

The TV star gave birth to Patricia when she was 39 and welcomed young Freddie into the world two years ago.

Christine said: "The two of them are funny and wonderful and exhausting.

"I think they've zapped every bit of energy from me, but it's worth it."
