Christian Pulisic sends Enzo Fernandez and Ben Chilwell Chelsea message amid Leeds injury update

Christian Pulisic appears to be enjoying life at Chelsea once more as he returns to full training with his teammates. The American winger has been out with an injury since the start of January and has had to watch as several younger models joined the ranks.

It has left him in a state of flux when it comes to the upcoming months at Stamford Bridge. Before his latest injury the 24-year-old was earning a consistent run in the side but will now be competing against new teammates Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke.

Nevertheless, with Graham Potter's attack misfiring, the return of Pulisic, who can offer something new to the frontline, will be a welcome return. There is already incentive enough for Pulisic to be ready as soon as possible, with a reunion awaiting with Borussia Dortmund.

The German side visit SW6 next week for the return leg of the Champions League last 16 with Pulisic hoping his side can overturn the 1-0 deficit. Having spent more than four years with the Bundesliga side it represents the first opportunity to face them as an opposition player.

First up is a home match against Leeds though, a game that may yet come too soon for him. Last week Potter said he was nearing a return and several social media posts indicate that he is now back in full swing of training at Cobham.

His latest activity is to share two photos of him with teammates, including one with his newest colleague, Enzo Fernandez.

Pulisic and Fernandez are yet to play together with the latter not joining until deadline day in January. With both tending to gravitate towards the left side of the pitch they may well be a dynamic partnership in the making. This bodes well for his smiles with Ben Chilwell, another player making his way back from injury and appearing at left-back.

The first step for the USMNT star is getting back onto the grass, then allowing relationships and patterns to form will follow.
