Christian Pulisic has made great progress towards his Chelsea exit in the last week. The American is widely expected to leave the club this summer as part of Mauricio Pochettino's overhaul of the playing squad after failing to hit form in the Premier League.
Interest in Pulisic from Europe has increased since the 2022/23 season ended. A move to Italy has seemed the most probable transfer, with AC Milan and Juventus both monitoring his situation while Newcastle were, once again, linked.
The 24-year-old has now entered the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge. His current situation in England has left Chelsea with little option but to concede they will not receive the £25million asking price previously stated.
With personal terms reportedly agreed with AC Milan, a new option has now emerged for the USMNT star. According to German outlet Berliner Kurier, FC Union Berlin could look to bring Pulisic back to the Bundesliga for their first-ever stint in the Champions League.
The report states that the German side could look to finance a deal for 'Captain America' with the funds raised from Sheraldo Becker's move to West Ham. The centre-forward has been strongly linked with a move to the Hammers after he scored 12 goals and assisted 11 last term.

A huge problem Union may face in their attempts in signing Pulisic is the structure of the deal. It's claimed they would prefer a season-long loan, something Chelsea are very unlikely to accept. Furthermore, Pulisic's wage demands could prove to be a stumbling block.
Pulisic has reportedly already agreed to cut his annual salary in an attempt to move to AC Milan this summer. However, a move to Union Berlin could see him faced with taking a further pay-cut.
