Nobody was happier to see the Jacksonville Jaguars flat-out overpay for free-agent wide receiver Christian Kirk than Tennessee Titans wideout, A.J. Brown.
The football world was stunned when it learned that Kirk would be getting a four-year, $72 million deal that could go up to $84 million in total value.
That’s right, a receiver who has never crossed the 1,000-yard mark in his career could make upwards of $21 million per season in his new deal.
Jags gonna Jag.
After news broke of the former Arizona Cardinals wideout’s deal with the Jags, Brown took to Twitter to share his reaction.

So, what does this have to do with Brown and what does his reaction above mean?
Brown is set to hit the open market in 2023 after the final year of his rookie contract in 2022, and while there’s no way the Titans will let him go barring something unforeseen, he’s getting more expensive by the day.
Brown, who is a superstar when healthy, was already looking at deal that pays him upwards of $20 million per season, but we can pretty much cement that as the minimum he’ll get after seeing what Kirk received.
After all, Brown is no doubt the better receiver and has two 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, which is two more than Kirk has.
If Kirk is making anywhere from $18 to $21 million per year, Brown’s new deal could easily surpass that. The Titans can only hope Brown factors in Jacksonville not being in its right mind and keeps his new deal at least somewhat team-friendly.
