Christian Eriksen started his Manchester United career in the best possible way on Wednesday, scoring a free-kick on his unofficial debut in the 4-1 behind-closed-doors win over Wrexham.

Fans will be able to see him in the flesh for the first time in Norway on Saturday when they take on quite different opposition in Atletico Madrid, and they are rightly excited about what he can bring to the team.

His link-up play and defence-cutting balls with Brentford last season reminded everyone of his quality. Eriksen managed to score his first Premier League goal since his January comeback in April, netting in the Bees’ 4-1 Stamford Bridge win.
