This is the last photograph of Christian Atsu sharing a moment with fans playing for Newcastle United.
In it, the Ghana international has just hurled his black and white shirt into the away end at Oxford after an enthralling FA Cup win in a fourth round replay after coming on as sub. We didn't know it then, but it would be the last time Atsu would get the chance to thank Newcastle fans.
The replay at the Kassam Stadium saw Atsu come off the bench and pass the ball cleverly to Allan Saint-Maximin before the Frenchman beat a posse of defenders and fire home the winner to make it 3-2. That was the cue for wild celebrations for the players before the squad went over to the fans after the game.

And Atsu staged his own thank you to fans by throwing his shirt into the crowd after the supporters made a long journey from Tyneside for a televised midweek game. Atsu played two more games for Newcastle after that but they came during lockdown, away to Man City and at home to Blackburn in the League Cup.
Atsu was then left out of the squad by Steve Bruce but wanted to stay on and fight for his place. In an interview with the Chronicle, Atsu said then: "I didn’t know that game was my final game. He gave me a choice to stay or move on loan and I chose to stay.
"I never regretted my decision."
