Chrissy Teigen sat down for her first live TV interview since the accusations of cyberbullying multiple people in May.

On Tuesday’s Today show, the mother-of-two opened up about her sobriety when Teigen revealed that she had reached a memorable milestone of a 100-day sober streak.

“I’m actually a hundred days sober today and I’m so excited,” Teigen told Hoda Kotb.

“I feel so good, I feel very clear-headed. I feel like I’ve done the work and I just hope these people can forgive and be able to welcome the fact that hopefully, they’ve seen me be better.”

Teigen told the show that giving up alcohol was to “do the work” she needed to do to become a better person” following the cyberbullying controvery.

She also revealed that sobriety was important to her to fully process the loss of a pregnancy in September 2020 with husband John Legend.

During a candid interview with Cosmopolitan in 2017, Teigen confessed that she was  “point blank, just drinking too much,”

“I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine. Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show. And then I felt bad for making kind of an ass of myself to people that I really respected,” she said.

“And that feeling, there’s just nothing like that. You feel horrible. It’s not a good look for me, for John, for anybody.”

Talking on the TODAY show about the bullying incidents, which the 35-year-old has profusely apologised for on social media and in an open letter on Medium, Teigen insisted that she is “glad it happened” because it “made her a stronger person.”

Chrissy Teigen’s new cookbook, Cravings: All Together: Recipes to Love, is out now.
