Chrishell Stause Is Donating A Bunch Of Her Selling Sunset Looks In The Uber x Red Cross Clothing Drive

If you’ve got a bunch of old clothes lying on that one chair in your bedroom that you’ve been meaning to donate for months now, I’ve got some news for you. The Uber Red Cross Clothing Drive is back in action, so now you’ve got no excuse to keep your cupboard clogged up with outfits you just don’t wear anymore. And this year, Selling Sunset star and honorary Australian Chrishell Stause is the face of the campaign, getting behind the good cause by donating a bunch of outfits — including those she wore on the beloved Netflix reality show.

“This is the kind of thing where everybody can get involved,” Chrishell tells PEDESTRIAN.TV.

“It feels good to go through your things and get rid of things that aren’t being used so why not let it go to a really good cause?”

Chrishell isn’t just talking the talk, though. She’s donating a heap of beautiful dresses, bags and designer items that she not only wore on Selling Sunset, but on the cover of her memoir, Under Construction, too. So if you pop into a Red Cross boutique, there’s a chance you might stumble across some of Chrishell’s pre-loved looks. Pretty cool, no?

Here are just a few looks from the show that Chrishell is donating.

For the real estate agent, her partnership with the clothing drive isn’t just about clearing out her closet.

“I go way back with the Red Cross to when I was a little kid,” she explained.

“The Red Cross helped get me the school supplies when I couldn’t afford them. It was amazing and I remember getting so excited. It would come in a white plastic bag with the red cross on it, and it would be filled with notebooks, rulers, pencils and pens.

“It was very exciting for a little kid that didn’t have any school supplies.”

These days, the talented multi-hyphenate is well aware of how far she’s come. So much so, that partnering with the charity that helped her as a child feels like a full-circle moment.

“To be able to encourage people to do something that we all can do, it’s an easy way to give back. The money really goes to such an amazing cause, helping families who are having such a hard time right now,” she says.

“I bet you have something in your closet you’re not wearing,” Chrishell continues.

“I bet you have something that you know you need the space more than you need the item. You know, that dress that you haven’t worn in two years? Maybe you still really love it, but it just doesn’t work for you. So donate it and then go shopping at the Red Cross and swap it out for something new.”

How to take part in the Uber x Red Cross Clothing Drive

The sixth annual Uber x Red Cross clothing drive kicks off on Saturday, October 19. On the day, people in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth can book an Uber Package

If you’ve got clothes ready to donate, you can book a free Uber Package which will come to your door and take your old clothes to the doorstep of an Australian Red Cross shop.

“Uber’s going to do the work for you. They’re going to come pick it up,” Chrishell says.

“A lot of the time that’s the issue, you know? Like, ‘Where do I take them’ or ‘Oh, they’ve been sitting in a bag and I forgot’. But no, you can just open the app and they’re going to come get it.”

How easy is that?

What can I donate?

The clothing drive is about passing on good quality clothes and accessories to raise funds to support people in need. It’s an opportunity to not only be sustainable and help those down on their luck but also give the clothes you bought on a whim when you were feeling adventurous but never wore a second life.

The Red Cross is looking for quality clothing and accessories to re-sell in stores around the country.

As these clothes will be sold in boutiques to raise funds for the less fortunate, it’s important to grab things that you’d be comfortable picking up on the rack in an op shop, or good enough quality that you’d feel great about giving it to a mate. Your old sweater with stains and a hole in the left arm can stay put.
