Newcastle United striker Chris Wood is said to be "open" to a loan move to Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.
The Reds are believed to be nearing a deal for the 31-year-old, who is behind Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak in the Magpies' pecking order of forwards. The target man has made just four starts in the Premier League this season, scoring twice.
It is now claimed that a deal between the clubs would include an option to buy, according to the Daily Mail. Wood has 18 months left on his contract after moving to St. James' Park from Burnley for £25 million last January.

Forest are looking for new options up front after it emerged that Taiwo Awoniyi's groin injury will keep him on the sidelines for longer than expected. The report claims that he will be out of action for two months.
That leaves Steve Cooper light on options in attack, as the manager is said to be unimpressed by Emmanuel Dennis, who could leave the City Ground this month. Sam Surridge has also been linked with a move to the Championship, although there has been little to no movement on that front.
