Chris Sutton believes that Leeds United supporters have 'short memories' following the Whites' 2-1 win at Liverpool on Saturday. Leeds ended their eight-match winless run in the Premier League against the Reds thanks to Crysencio Summerville's 89th-minute winner.
Pressure had been building on Jesse Marsch in the days leading up to the trip to Anfield, with supporters not afraid to voice their displeasure in either of the defeats to Leicester City and Fulham. Despite all the outside noise, the board opted to stick with the American which ultimately paid dividends in what was a historic win.
Speaking on BBC 5Live's Monday Night Club, Sutton admitted he is unsure whether it is the result that has preserved his job, but criticised Leeds supporters for turning on him so quickly after guiding them to survival last season.

"I don't know whether it's the result that has saved his job, but I think it was much-needed because the Leeds fans as much as anything had turned on Jesse Marsch in their numbers. It was becoming a huge problem for the manager.
"They started the season well and then they fell away, I actually thought they had a really strong performance against Crystal Palace in the first half but they ended up losing the game. Against Arsenal a strong performance at Elland Road and unfortunate not to get anything out of that but in many respects that was overlooked by a lot of Leeds fans.
"The pressure was on after a poor performance at Leicester City and I think Bielsa's name was being sang again and again which wasn't fair on Jesse Marsch. He said he was sick of losing and look, Liverpool have been really inconsistent this season so the result, was it such a surprise.
"Well, it was in a way because it was Liverpool at Anfield but it was huge for Jesse Marsch. I think he deserves time, the start to the season hasn't been awful and the fact is Leeds fans have short memories because this is a guy who kept them up last season."
