Chris Sutton has taken the opportunity to snap back at Jason Cundy following Arsenal's defeat to PSV.
The ex- Celtic took to social media on Thursday to take a jibe at the talkSPORT pundit who lambasted both Celtic and Rangers ' exits from the Champions League. Cundy branded both sides of the Old Firm 'lightyears' behind their competition across the continent. "Has anyone seen Postecoglou?! Has anyone seen Scottish football?! Bang average! My word." He laughed. They're fourth tier. They've got two points from eight games. What more evidence do you need, seriously, what more evidence do you need?"
But following Arsenal's result against the Dutch side, Sutton couldn't help but take a swipe of his own. The former Parkhead frontman does not need much ammunition when it comes social media, with goals from Joey Veerman and Luuk de Jong giving the Englishman the perfect opportunity to take aim at the football in his homeland.
Taking to Twitter, Sutton suggested that the Gunners' defeat in the Europa League makes them even worse than supposed "fourth tier" Celtic and Rangers.
He wrote: "Arsenal lose to PSV. Rangers knocked out PSV from the Champions League. So by a certain persons logic does it mean that Arsenal are at fifth tier level in European competition?"
