Chris Sutton identifies key Nottingham Forest 'doubt' ahead of Wolves

Chris Sutton believes one side is not “fulfilling their potential” ahead of Nottingham Forest's clash with Wolves on Saturday.

Forest boss Steve Cooper celebrated his new contract with a draw against Aston Villa at the City Ground, with striker Emmanuel Dennis scoring his first goal for the club. It was a result that stopped a skid of five defeats, lifting the Reds off the bottom of the table and two points away from escaping the bottom three.

The club are joined in the bottom three by Wolves, who are still searching for Bruno Lage’s successor after sacking the Portuguese coach earlier this month. However, despite Wolves winning just one of their last 16 league games, Sutton believes that the quality within their side will prove too much for Forest.

“Wolves are still managerless but they have got some good players, who have not been playing anywhere near to the levels we know they can,” Sutton told BBC Sport , predicting a 2-0 defeat for the Reds. “They are in the bottom three but I look at them as a team who are not fulfilling their potential.

“That's not really the case with Nottingham Forest, who I thought were fortunate to get something out of their game with Aston Villa on Monday. Forest's new signings haven't clicked and they are a team who are probably starting to doubt themselves a little bit.”

Cooper will be determined to prove the team’s doubters wrong, in what has been a busy week for Forest off the pitch . Giving an injury update, the manager insisted that defender Moussa Niakhate is still “nowhere near” fully fit, while he is also without Omar Richards and Jack Colback has been suffering with a back problem.
