Chris Sutton concedes Ange Postecoglou to Celtic to Spurs acceptance

Chris Sutton has conceded that he believes Ange Postecoglou will leave Celtic following this weekend's Scottish Cup final.

The Hoops manager is the No.1 target for Tottenham as they look to finally replace Antonio Conte.

Reports earlier this week have suggested that it's already a done deal for the Australian to depart Glasgow for the bright lights of the Premier League.

The 57-year-old was cool when addressing the media, playing down such claims as he previewed the Inverness game yesterday.

But he stopped short of shutting down all of the speculation, instead insisting he understood it.

While he refused to allow himself to become distracted prior to the chance to achieve a domestic treble with Celtic this weekend, Sutton reckons it's highly like Postecoglou will be off in the coming days.

However, he dismissed comparisons between the Aussie and Brendan Rodgers.

Speaking on BT Sport, he said: “Ange Postecoglou could have put this story to bed. He could have said ‘I’m staying at Celtic’.

“The fact he hasn’t, most Celtic fans are thinking after the cup final something will happen.

“This was a guy who is ambitious and will want to manage in the Premier League and it isn’t like when Brendan left under a cloud, most Celtic fans would wish him well.

“But if he does go, it will be a massive, massive loss.”
