Chris Rock looks to have severed his already fragile relations with Will Smith beyond repair as he let rip at his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's infamous 'entanglements' in his newly-released comedy special.
During his stinging Netflix special 'Selective Outrage', timed to go out just days before the 2023 Oscars, Rock finally gives the lowdown on being on the receiving end of that slap as reels off a hilarious rivalry between him and the actor.
Rock also pokes fun at Will's own tearful apology and the global outrage in the aftermath - before going on to take aim at Meghan Markle's Oprah interview as he blasts the notion of 'celebrity victims'.
But perhaps the most toe-curling moment of all came as Rock made a series of gags about Will's wife Jada's alleged affairs.
Rumours of an 'open marriage' have followed the couple for years, and Jada finally admitted in 2020 that she'd had an 'entanglement' with a younger man.
Reminding his audience of some home truths for the Pinkett-Smiths, Rock insisted the King Richard actor's anger on Oscar night had nothing to do with anything he ever did - as he urged the star to look closer to home as his audience roared with laughter.
Referencing Jada's dalliance with son Jaden's rapper friend August Alsina, Rock teased: "Everybody knows I had nothing to do with that s**t."
He went on: "For people that don’t know — everybody knows! — his wife was f**king her son’s friend, OK?
"Now, I normally would not talk about this s**t, but for some reason these [people] put that s**t on the internet! I had no idea why two talented people would do something that f**king low-down!”
"We all been cheated on. Everybody in here has been cheated on.
“None of us have ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us on television.
“She hurt him way more than he hurt me. Everybody in the world called him a bitch. I tried to call him to give him my condolences, he didn’t pick up for me.
“Everybody called him a bitch, and who did he hit? Me. That’s what happened.”
In 2020 Jada and Will stunned fans by airing their marriage woes in a bombshell episode of family chat show Red Table Talk.
The decision to speak out came after August Alsina claimed to have been romantically involved with Jada during her marriage to Will.
He even suggested that Will gave the pair his blessing.
"I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation," the singer said. "Due to the transformation from their marriage to (a) life partnership that they have spoken on several times, and not involving romanticism, he gave me his blessing.
"I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it," he claimed.
Speaking on Red Table Talk weeks later, Jada admitted she first became close to the rapper when he she realised he was suffering with his mental health.
"The outpouring from him from our family was initially about his health," explained Will.
Jada continued: "From there, you know, as time went on I got into a different kind of entanglement with August."
Will then asked his wife to explain exactly what she meant, to which Jada replied: "It was a relationship, absolutely."
The Fresh Prince star says the 'entanglement' came at a time he and Jada were going through a rough patch.
"We decided we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy. I really felt like we could be over.”
Will and Jada have been married since 1997 and have two children together: Jaden and Willow
Will Smith also has another son, Trey from a previous marriage.
While Will picked up the Oscar for Best Actor at the 2022 Academy Awards, the night will forever be known by the incident that saw him slap guest presenter Chris Rock.
Rock was onstage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to present the award for Best Documentary when he made a remark about Pinkett Smith’s appearance.
"Jada, I love you. GI Jane 2 , can’t wait to see you," he quipped, appearing to refer to Jada's shaved head.
GI Jane was a 1997 American drama film starring Demi Moore - who shaved her head for the movie - about the first woman to undergo special operations training.
Jada, who has spoken about her battle with alopecia, was seen rolling her eyes at the comment.
Will then walked on to the Oscars stage and struck Rock on the face with an open hand.
“Wow! Wow. Will Smith just smacked the s*** out of me,” said the comic.
His latest comedy special is the first time Rock has spoken at length about what happened.
