Chris Prine's representative has responded to the rumours of Harry Styles spitting on Chris with a furious statement.
The actor, who stars in Don't Worry Darling with Harry, recently went viral over an alleged incident at the Venice Film Festival premiere on Monday.
A clip of Chris and the audience clapping as Harry approached his assigned seat next to the actor went viral.
Some fans believed the As It Was singer might have spat at Chris while he was sitting down as Chris' facial reactions changed the moment Harry took his seat.
He also instantly stopped clapping when the 'spitting' reportedly occurred.
However, Chris' reps denied the rumour - which has taken the internet by storm - and called it a 'complete fabrication'.
"This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation," they said in a statement for Variety.
"Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine.
"There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist."
After watching the clip, some fans took to social media to debate over what they saw.
They thought his look of disbelief, which was followed by a burst of stunned laughter, was because the singer-turned-actor has spat in his direction.
One Twitter user gasped: "#HarryStyles appears to spit on Chris Pine i won't sleep until i know the truth."
Another had the same thoughts and slammed the star for his apparent actions: "The audacity of harry styles to SPIT on his costar in public is actually appalling like… i’m sitting here with my mouth wide open in shock he is DISGUSTING."

However, some fans thought the rumours were ridiculous and came up with other explanations for Chris' reaction.
They believed the mystery is well and truly solved after eagle-eyed followers said Chris was just discovering his sunglasses in his lap.
Slowed-down footage doesn’t seem to show any spit leaving Harry’s mouth and it appears to be shut – with viewers asking why he would do such a thing in front of the world’s press.
The entire event was attended by journalists and cameras surrounded the stars – so fans say it would be unlikely that Harry would do such a thing so publicly.
One fan said: “The only thing happening in that video is Chris Pine forgot where he put his sunglasses."
