Chris Moyles signs up to I'm A Celebrity 10 years after Ant and Dec urged him to go on show

Ant and Dec are to finally achieve their dream of having motormouth Chris Moyles on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.

A decade after the hosts put him at the top of their wish-list, the radio DJ has signed up for the show, despite saying he has a terrible fear of heights.

Speaking on his Radio X breakfast show, Chris, 48, told Vernon Kay it only hit him how bad his vertigo was when he took girlfriend Tiffany Austin’s niece to Go Ape.

“I papped myself and I realised I’m more scared of heights than I actually genuinely thought I was,” he said.

Radio DJ Chris admitted he has a fear of heights – which he may have to face on I'm A Celeb (Global)

But pal Vernon, who took part in the first Welsh version in 2020, insisted he would have a great time. He said: “I honestly had a blast, and anyone who gets asked to do it, I would say to them now ‘don’t hesitate’.

“Yeah, it’s awful, as in the cockroaches, creepy crawlies, spiders and snakes and all that palaver, but as an experience it’s probably one of the best I’ve ever had in telly.”

Hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly said they wanted to see Moyles as a campmate back in 2012.

Geordie Dec explained: “He would be really funny, he’d probably win.

“And he’s lost so much weight, even the lack of food wouldn’t bother him.” Ant added: “The thing is eventually they all say yes. We just wear them down.”

Other stars thought to have signed up for the jungle next month include 1980s pop icon Boy George, love rat comedian Seann Walsh and former Love Islander Olivia Attwood.
