Coldplay front man Chris Martin has admitted to eating just one meal a day after becoming jealous of Bruce Springsteen 's physique.
The award-winning musician, 46, changed his eating habits when he noticed the American singer, 73, "looks even more in shape" than himself.
Dad of two Chris became inspired by Springsteen after having lunch with the Born to Run star.
The Yellow singer noticed Bruce only eating once whilst he went over to his Philadelphia home for lunch.
"I actually don’t have dinner anymore. I stop eating at 4[pm] and I learned that from having lunch with Bruce Springsteen," Chris revealed.
Speaking on an episode of Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, he continued: “I was lucky enough to go over there to lunch the day after we played Philadelphia last year.
"I was on a really strict diet anyway. But I was like ‘Bruce looks even more in shape than me’ and Patti [Springsteen’s wife] said he’s only eating one meal a day.
"I was like ‘well, there we go. That’s my next challenge'."
The hitmaker didn't disclose what his one meal consists of but joked that Springsteen's meal is a “flank of buffalo with a steroid sauce”.
Last year, Coldplay was forced to cancel eight shows after Chris became struck down with a horror lunch infection.
"With deep regret, we’ve been forced to postpone our upcoming shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo until early 2023," the statement read.
"Due to a serious lung infection, Chris has been put under strict doctor’s orders to rest for the next three weeks."
The band are on a lengthy world tour which is set to conclude July 19, 2023 in Amsterdam.
Chris shares 18-year-old Apple and son Moses, 16, with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
The couple split in 2014, ending ten years of marriage.
Singer-songwriter Chris has been dating Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson, 33, since 2017.
The star has helped Coldplay improve their shows for hearing-impaired audience members thanks to a special gift she gave him.
She gifted Chris a SUBPAC which is a vest that allows wearers to physically feel sound frequencies they might not be able to hear.
The singer-songwriter then decided to hand the vests out to hard-of-hearing audience members at Coldplay shows.
The concerts also provide sign language interpreters for those who need them.
