The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the divisional round this Sunday for a much-anticipated matchup with the Buffalo Bills. The exceptional play of their defense has everyone praising the players, including former NFL stars.
On the latest episode of “Green Light with Chris Long” (A production of Yote House Media), retired NFL players Chris Long, Kyle Long, and Nate Collins reacted to the Wild Card round games. During their review of the Chiefs’ victory over the Miami Dolphins, Chris shared his appreciation for cornerback L’Jarius Sneed’s play.
“L’Jarius Sneed might be one of my favorite players in the league –– he might be top three, for me,” said Long. “On one of those third downs…[Sneed] jammed this [guy] into the ground. The physicality they play with.”
The NFL Films crew documented Sneed’s physical play well with audio as he jammed Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Long was known for his physical play in his career and was enamored by Sneed’s effort on Saturday night.
“There was a ball in the third quarter that took forever to get to [Jaylen] Waddle, and Sneed comes top down on this thing,” Long explained. “He slings Waddle out of bounds; Waddle doesn’t do anything. Sneed stands there and turns toward the sideline — he is on the opposing sideline — they are all huddled up in their coats, and he stands there until the refs are ready to move him off their sidelines. I have chills right now. That is alpha energy. If I had a DB like that on my team, he’s my best friend.”
Sneed was surprisingly left off the AFC Pro Bowl roster this year, causing many Chiefs fans to voice their displeasure on social media. He will have another elite receiver to follow on Sunday in the Buffalo Bills’ Stefon Diggs.
