Former Republic of Ireland International Chris Hughton is earning plenty of praise from Ghana boss Otto Addo as the African side look to secure their place in the last-16 of the FIFA World Cup on Friday.
The Black Stars have defied expectations so far in the tournament and have their faith in their own hands heading into Friday's crunch clash with old rivals Uruguay. 12 years on from Luis Suarez's infamous handball, Ghana can send the South American side packing and book their own place in the knockout stages with a positive result.
Ex-Brighton and Newcastle boss Hughton, who won 53 caps for Ireland during his playing days, has strong links to Ghana as his father was born there. Earlier this year, Hughton was linked with the job while in the country holidaying with his family. In the end, the 63-year-old took on a technical advisor role, while the managers position was filled by Otto Addo.

Throughout the tournament, Addo was praised Hughton for his role in the camp. Earlier this week, the Ghana boss once again paid tribute to the impact that Hughton has had on the side.
"He's got a lot of experience and knowledge and he's always trying to give his best for the team," said Addo.
"We have a very good relationship. Chris Hughton is a very experienced coach," Addo added earlier this week.
"He takes a lot of things out of my head for me to concentrate on the team. And on the tactics, he's also given advice. We have good exchanges with him, but also with the other coaches like George Boateng and Didi Dramani."
"He was here to inspect the hotels. He was here to organise everything. He's done a great job so far and he's a big help to me."
