Chris Hughes involved in car crash leaving him in pain and his car in a 'sorry state'

Former Love Island star Chris Hughes has revealed he was involved in a painful motorway crash on Sunday.

The reality TV star, 29, told his Instagram followers how he had to be rescued by two members of the public and admitted he was "useless" in the situation.

Thankfully, he escaped with only minor injuries but it sounds as though his car was left in a bit of a state.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Monday he told his 2.1 million followers how his partner, golf star Annabel Dimmock, had prepared a "get well pack" for his Valentine's present following the incident.

He posted a short clip of goodies, including Ibuprofen and a massage rub, with a note saying "For my brave boy".

He revealed the crash in his caption, which read: "Had a crash on the motorway last night and my car's in a sorry state, neck's sore but home to this."

Chris then went on to post a video of his car with the hazard lights on pulled over on the motorway in the dark and bleak weather. He wrote: "Not fun, but 2 amazing people stopped to help and they were the best.

"One was in the RAF and the other just came from work, so thanks both. I actually was useless in the situation and a bit meh, so didn't know what to do."

Luckily, it appeared as though the sports presenter was back to normal on Monday as he celebrated Valentine's Day with a romantic walk with Annabel, 25.

He later showcased the efforts his other half had gone to to make their special day perfect.

While at her parents' house, she surprised him with a sweet set up for dinner. Taking the time to show off the special moment with his fans, Chris wrote: "Nah I can't this is so cute... what a fantastic lady.

"She drove me to her parents and told me I had to help them move something behind the house."

Part of the gift was a selection of lagers and a bottle of champagne which Chris joked: "Best crack them open."

Their romantic evening surrounded by tea lights consisted of a big screen playing Titanic and some lovely looking fruit canapés.

The set up was seemingly provided by a party planning company as Chris shared their Insta post to his story alongside a message of thanks which showed off the beautiful lay out.

And it turns out a Valentine's Day isn't complete without a fish and chip supper as he joked that Annabel is "always eating".

The pair began dating last summer and already live together.

Their relationship appears to be going from strength to strength, with the pair often sharing lovely messages about each other on their social media and Chris previously hinting he was ready to spend the rest of his life together.
